Yassas, my name is Dawnya. This was my second Rick Steves tour. I loved it! Our tour guide, David Willet couldn't have been any better and our group was friendly and fun. I highly recommend Greece to anybody interested in ancient historical sites, beautiful scenery, and great food. One of the best parts of this journey was the wonderful Greek people and their culture.

I was a little more adventerous this year in wandering on my own. I took the above picture in a litte place called "Anafiotika. Rick's guidebook has a walk that I followed to end up here. It was amusing that this quaint little sign points to one of the ancient wonders of our world. It was very quiet in Anafiotika. It was hard to belive I was still in Athens.

I hope this website encourages people considering the Greek tour to take the plunge and experience the unique ancient beauty that the country of Greece offers you.

I made it to the top of the Theatre of Epidavros Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens

I don't think Ipods are a common thing here.  I had my Ipod with me and used it everyday.  I received  strange looks from the locals  when I had my headphones in and I would sing along with a favorite tune or laugh at the jokes of a comedian, or witty comment by Rick Steves.  You can download podcasts from the Rick Steves website so you can have Rick and other guides with you everywhere you go.

Rick Steves' company really does a great job of squeezing everything they can out of your travel euro.  Over half of our meals were provided for us and the hotels were great.  As a single traveler, I couldn't have done it for less and I wouldn't have traveled with such a fun loving bunch .  I can't say enough good things about our guide, David Willet.  We were lucky to have him leading us.

I picked a great time of year to go.  It was still warm enough to lay out on the beach!  Prepare to laugh in the following pages when I tell you about some of my sunbathing experiences.

You will notice several references to the Gods and Goddesses of Greek Mythology in my scrapbook.  These mythological figures are an important part of the history of the people of Greece.  You will notice links when a God is mentioned. Please click on them to help answer any questions you might have about the Gods.

Click on the little greek guy at the bottom of each page to head to our next stop in Greece.  Enjoy!

Let's go to Athens
